Cookley put in arresting displays to win rugby event

RUGBY: Cookley Primary School pupils in Year 5 and 6 have won the Wyre Forest tag rugby tournament.

Twenty-five teams competed in the West Mercia Police event at Kidderminster Carolians Rugby Club.

Cookley played four matches and topped their group.

They remained undefeated throughout the tournament and will now represent the district in the West Mercia finals.

Teacher Jackie Grainer said: “We have a good reputation for our sporting success, which is not bad for a small village school."
