MEMBERS of TRiKS qualified for the World Duathlon Championships with strong performances at the Oulton Park Spring event.
The club sent a five-strong team which competed very well.
In the women’s event, Jacqui Phillips started this year’s season with an excellent third place finish, closely followed by Samantha Anderson in fifth place overall.
Finishing first and second in their respective age groups has ensured their automatic qualification for the Championships in Spain.
In the men’s event, Chris Morris booked his place with fourth place in his category but Alistair Brown’s eighth-place finish means he will have to endure an agonising wait to find out if he too will receive the prestigious GB call up.
Mark Phillips completed the team’s efforts by finishing 15th in his age group, which was an impressive result after a injury hit winter.
