HEAD coach Ian Bletcher wants Kidderminster Carolians to end their rollercoaster of a season on a high with victory at Leamington on Saturday.

The Marlpool Lane side must avoid defeat in Warwickshire to prevent fourth-placed Leamington leapfrogging them into third place on the final day of the 2013-14 campaign. KCs will be keen to wrap up a season where they were at one point challenging for the title.

Saturday's 17-12 defeat at Stourbridge Lions and Banbury's victory over Spartans ended their hopes of making the play-offs and ensured the highest they could finish is third.

Nick Martin will miss the game after having 19 stitches in his head following an incident during Saturday's derby.

Bletcher said: "It's been an exciting season and there's no doubt that there have been a few ups and downs.

"But we want to make sure we finish third in the table.

"We're looking forward to the Leamington game and we really want to finish on a high."

KCs were just edged out in a hard fought game in Stourbridge. George Morgan and Alex Baldwin scored and Chris Pinner added one conversion.

KCs were frustrated throughout by the the frequent injury stoppages .

Bletcher added: "The referee apologised after the game profusely for some of the errors he made."

"I thought it was telling after the game the way Stourbridge celebrated, it was like they had won the World Cup.

"Nick doesn't really remember anything about the incident and afterwards everyone was looking the other way.

"It was great to see the measures we had put in place to deal with situations like this work well and Nick was able to walk off the pitch."

Mitchell Hardwick suffered an injury onSaturday but KCs will have Sam Taylor back.
