SAMURAI pair Leah Grosvenor and Bryony Griffiths stormed to gold medals at the London Open Judo Championships.
Nathan Gallacher also picked up a silver in what was a good night for the Wyre Forest club.
Grosvenor has looked on imperious form this year with gold medals at the Midlands and Scottish Open and in all competitions has lost only one contest, in the final of the British Schools Championships.
She continued her good form by defeating opponents from Pinewood and Wolverhampton to book her place in the final.
Up against a rival from Tonbridge in Kent, she forced her opponent onto the back foot who eventually picked up penalties for negative play as Grosvenor earned gold.
Bryony Griffiths took her first gold medal in a British cadet ranking event, moving her up to sixth place in the national rankings.
Gallacher could have made the under 34 kilogram weight group but took the decision to move to under 38kg as preparation for moving into the cadets in autumn.
He powered to the final with wins over rivals from Berkshire, Dorset and Enfield but was edged out in the final by a fighter from Leicestershire.
Meanwhile, Frankie Marston was eliminated after losing to a rival from Surrey.
On Sunday, June 8, Samurai will celebrate their 35th anniversary with their annual get-together at their Zortech Avenue premises. All former members are invited to come along and renew old acquaintances. The judo session starts at 10am.
