STUDENTS from Kidderminster’s Holy Trinity School beat off stiff competition from swimmers from across the country to secure the title of ‘best overall small school’ at the ESSA Primary Team Championships.

Students enjoyed an impressive set of results, securing two relay titles in Sheffield.

In the freestyle final, Olivia Jay, Ellie Bainbridge, Alex Rosser-Barnett and Imogen Rhodes set a time of 58.54 seconds.

In the mixed stroke relay final, Ria Chance, Jay, Bainbridge and Rosser-Barnett set 1.05.60.

Holy Trinity students take part in weekly swimming lessons as part of the school’s curriculum from the age of four years, as well as joining in with after-school lessons.

The school’s close links with local community partners and swimming clubs also provides additional opportunities for students to train and excel.

Head of Prep School, Jon Brunt, said: “What a fantastic achievement and testament to all the hard work and personal dedication our students give to their swimming training, in addition to their weekly swimming lessons in the school’s on-site swimming pool, inter-school competitions and regular swimming galas.”
