KIDDERMINSTER Victoria are falling closer into a relegation battle in the Birmingham League Premier after losing by eight wickets to title chasing West Bromwich Dartmouth.

Defeat means KVCC are second from bottom at the season’s halfway stage after seven games without an outright win.

The Cherry Hill Road side won the toss and elected to bat first but found runs hard to come by.

With 69 on the board, Richard Kimberlin was out for 25 and the score had only reached 82 when Matt Pardoe was out for 41.

Only one more run had been scored before Connor Smith was out for a duck. Skipper Jonathan Wright made 14, but Michael Hill (2), Andrew Siwicki (2), Andy Kimberlin (3), and Ryan Derrick (12) could not cope with the bowling of Kadeer Ali (3-26), Aqsad Ali (3-30) and Zeeshan Asif (2-25), who tore the heart out of the Kidderminster batting.

A small flourish at the end saw Mark Fisher score 10 but KVCC limped to 129-8.

West Bromwich’s reply was swift and painful, taking them only 21 overs to finish the game.

Rasil Zaman scored 101 not out, hitting eight fours and nine sixes. He faced 63 balls in 81 minutes KVCC’s wicket-takers were Michael Hill (1-15), and Smith (1-26). Pardoe’s five overs only cost 13 runs.
