STOURPORT kept the pressure on Worcestershire League Division Three leaders Harborne with a convincing five-wicket victory at Avoncroft.

Batting first Avoncroft, were restricted by some fine bowling from Matt Delo (4-49) and skipper Craig Siwicki (3-49) to a well below par 199.

In reply, Stourport looked to finish the game as quickly as possible with opener Spencer Colley hitting a quickfire 21.

Fifty-nine 59 from Ryan Delo and 53 from Chris Parry took Stourport to the brink of victory. Stourport running out winners in just the 23rd over.

On Saturday, Stourport entertain third-placed Bredon (1pm start).

The batsmen came out on top in Stourport second's clash with Colwall on a superb Walshes Meadow wicket.

Batting first, Colwall amassed 300 from their 50 overs. Josh Tristram the pick of the attack with 3-48.

In reply, all Stourport batsmen made a start with no one going on to make a match winning innings.

Phil Williams (48), Ian Delo (43), Neil Bailey (40) and 38 not out from Will Downes taking Stourport to 256-6 to take a losing draw.

Simon Downes (5-59) enabled Stourport thirds team to bowl out Hallow 260.

In reply, Stourport could only reach 229-7 despite the best efforts of Sam Hayes (47), Charlie Foley (43) and 35 not out from Harry Field.

The fourths ran out comfortable winners as they thrashed Hallow seconds by 177 runs.

89 from veteran Neil Waldron and 40 from Peter Harrison saw Stouport post 228.

In reply, Alex Cook (4-12) and 3-5 from Lawrence Neill helped skittle Hallow for 51 in the 16th over.
