COOKLEY endured a difficult weekend in Worcestershire Division Two as they lost by nine wickets to Worcester Dominies.
Put into bat Cookey scored a credible 258 all out thanks to the Taylor brothers Mitch (42) and Jack (43) with Al Ray contributing a stylish 44. To the amazement of spectators Dominies captain John Hancock smashed an unbeaten 168 in just 35 overs to inflict the heaviest defeat of the season.
Cookley, who slipped to eighth, visit Malvern on Saturday (1pm start).
The seconds fell short against leaders Worcester Nomads.
Nomads chose to bat and amassed a formidable total thanks to 175 not out from Guy Davies.
After heavy rain, the sexnds settled for a draw Ian Roberts (62) Chris Parkes (53) but they fell just short of the 200 target to claim vital extra points.
The Thirds once again had the best result setting a respectable 200 then just failing to secure the last Kidderminster wicket for a maximum points win.
