STOURPORT moved back into the promotion places after beating Ross-on-Wye by two wickets on Saturday.

The Wyre Forest outfit moved up to second in Worcestershire Division Two, leap frogging Bredon into the second automatic promotion spot.

Having won the toss and electing to field, Stourport bowled out Ross for 183 in the 45th over, with the wickets shared around, Michael Pratt proving to be the pick of the attack with 2-21.

Due to rain interruptions, Stourport were set a reduced target for victory.

A 38 from Chris Parry and a battling 32 from Matt Delo saw Stourport to victory in the 43rd over.

Monday’s clash against Old Vigornians was abandoned without a ball bowled in anger due to the weather.

This Saturday, Stourport entertain bottom of the tableTenbury Wells (1pm start).

The Seconds lost for just the second time this season as the Redditch batsmen took the Stourport attack, compiling a challenging 323-6 from their 50 overs.

l Chaddesley Corbett lost to Avoncroft by six wickets in Division Three.

Put into bat, home team Corbett were restricted to 104 all out in 29 overs.

Only Imran Yousaf (22), Muhammad Saddiq (22) and Waqur Ahmed (20) got among the runs.

After a delay for rain, Croft had a much reduced target for victory and made 63-4 in 18 overs.

On Monday, Corbett’s clash against Bredon was rained off.

It means they are still in danger of relegation following a 101-point deduction for fielding an unregistered player. Chaddesley entertain Cleobury Mortimer on Saturday (1pm start).
