KIDDERMINSTER-based three-time Olympian Naomi Folkard earned a silver medal at the Nottingham Building Society Archery GB National Series Finals at Wollaton Park.
Olympian and defending champion Amy Oliver became Women’s Recurve National Series Champion after a tough match against Folkard.
The calibre of the match was extremely high with Oliver taking the title in four sets, with a final score of 112-107.
Folkard, who lives in Kidderminster and is a member of the Leamington Spa Archery Club, said: “I’m really happy to have won the silver medal.
“It would have been great to win the title but Amy was incredibly strong competition.
“The National Series Finals are a great opportunity to shoot head to head against the country’s top archers, in front of live crowds, so it’s an important event in the UK calendar.”
In August, she had won bronze in the individual ladies’ recurve and ladies’ team events at the World Field Archery Championships.
She defeated Italy’s Anna Botto in the third-place play-off, while in the team events.
Folkard then teamed up with compounder Christie-Lee Ravenscroft and barebow Victoria Williams.
After beating Slovenia and losing their semi-final against Austria, the British team bounced back to see off Italy in the bronze medal clash.
