ELAINE Gale has seen 16 years devotion to Carolians Netball Club and its members rewarded after being named Wyre Forest District Council’s coach of the year.

The 57 year old from Kidderminster is the beating heart of the popular club, which focuses solely on coaching local residents.

A gifted organiser, she has guided many players over the years to a regional level.

The enthusiastic coach also runs a four hour session each week for players aged between nine to 50 years old.

When she’s not working as a coach, the qualified umpire, who also still plays, can seen on Saturdays and Sundays cheering on the club’s teams.

She said: “It’s always incredibly rewarding to see how players have improved and developed.

“When I was told I had won the award it came as a complete surprise and it’s an honour to be recognised.”
