STOURPORT Men finished off an excellent first half of the season in the Midlands Division One with a 5-0 win over Edgbaston on Saturday.

Thre Wyre Forest outfit head into the festive break with a three-point lead over second-placed Burton.

Stourport were dominant throughout against their mid-table rivals.

A Dan Petrie solo effort followed by a Chris Hill finish and a first of the season for Chris Parry gave the hosts a three-goal lead at the interval.

The second half was closer to the high quality performance expected by coach Paul Edwards but despite the domination the team were only able to add a further two goals.

An unstoppable rasping Hill shot and a cool finish from man of the match Petrie, 17.

There were outstanding performances again from Dan Hurley and Phil Baldwin in midfield with support at the back from Mark Moss, while Alex Cook in goal capped an excellent team effort.

Meanwhile, the U18s boys qualified for the National Finals on Sunday at Nottingham.

The highlight of the day was beating National League Club side Beeston 3-0.
