BEWDLEY Town manager Phil Mullen was full of praise the 11 players who turned out for Saturday’s 4-1 win over Shifnal Town.
Town were forced to field several players who were feeling ill as well as coach Alex Kilgore.
But it didn’t matter as a spectacular long range brace for Kilgore and efforts by Ed Flory and Lee Hodgkins sealed the points.
Mullen said: “We had 11 heroes on Saturday.
“There were players who might not have played if we had more guys available but they put in everything.
“I was a little disappointed only to have 11 players available. Over the last six weeks we’ve had good numbers.
“We try to tell the players that the level of football we play at, the club and the people who work very hard must be respected but it’s up to them to work it out.”
Town are at home to Smethwick Rangers on Saturday (3pm ko).
