BEWDLEY Town can count themselves a little unlucky after Saturday’s 6-0 defeat to title-chasing Sporting Khalsa.

The Ribbesford Meadows outfit were 3-0 down at half-time as Khalsa demonstrated their ruthless side by taking a host of chances.

Bewdley then saw four efforts saved and cleared off the line in the second half before their opponents bagged three goals.

The club are now hoping that the weather does not deteriorate as they head into two important home games as they look to push up the West Midlands Premier.

Bewdley tackle Pegasus Juniors, who are one place above Town, on Saturday (3pm ko) and then entertain Cradley Town on Tuesday (7.45pm ko).

But the club need the wet weather to lay off and the wind to remain in order to dry out the pitch, as Tuesday night’s game against Herefordshire side Wellington in the League Cup was rained off.

Town have lost their last three game in the league but manager Phil Mullen, who was missing a host of players last weekend, is hoping to have something close to a full strength squad.

Town are sixth in the table with just six wins all season.
