ROD Brown says Stourports Swifts will have to find the right formula in midfield.

The Walshes Meadow outfit are trying to strengthen in the centre of the pitch after losing several players.

Dean Waldron has returned to Worcester City, while the club have lost Karl Fellows to injury and suspension.

Gary Walker is back from an injury sustained in December but is not yet back to his best, while youngster Robbie Bunn is still settling into the team.

Brown has drafted in Dudley Sports midfielder Luke Williams as an option, while Danny Scheppel has also signed after a year out of football and must catch up in terms of fitness.

To make matters worse, the Walshes Meadow outfit were beaten 5-2 at home by Continental Star, despite a brace for Lewis Pountney.

After rising to fifth in the Midlands Premier before the festive period, a winless run of six league games has seen them slip to ninth.

Brown said: “We were going well before Christmas but we’ve struggled a bit.

“We lost the heart of our midfield, so it’s up to me to try and work on our formation.

“I thought Continental looked a good side but the performance was very poor”

Swifts, who saw their game against Alvechurch postponed on Tuesday night, face Causeway United at away on Saturday (3pm ko).
