STOURPORT Men found their ruthless touch in front of goals as they won two warm-up games over the weekend.

Facing a friendly double header with opposition against Bristol side Robinsons and Harborne, the Kingsway based club knew it was going to be a tough Saturday.

The Wyre Forest outfit avenged a 5-3 loss to the West Country side in a corresponding friendly in September.

Continuing their impressive form, Stourport dominated the early exchanges and were 2-0 up at half-time with goals from an Andy Cavendish short corner and a David Knott finish.

Robinsons went close but could not finish some of their more positive periods of play.

It was felt that whoever scored the first goal in the second half it would probably have a great influence on the outcome of the game. Deservedly it was the home side who scored from a well-taken finish by Phil Baldwin and then added a fourth from another Cavendish.

The visitors pulled a goal back from a short corner before Robinsons pulled another one back.

Stourport were not finished and it was Chris Hoare who went on to seal a comfortable win.

Stourport then followed that win up with a 4-1 success against Harborne on Sunday.

Keeper Alex Cook was untroubled as the home team had the best of the game.

A good goal from Dan Petrie and a second from a sharp reaction by Chris Parry following a short corner gave Stourport a two goal lead at the break.

Petrie added a third just after half-time before Baldwin added another.

Meanwhile, Ladies seconds restarted their fixtures with a 6-1 victory over Bridgnorth, thanks to goals for Jodi Vincent (3), Lauren Shilvock and Claire Pearson.

The sixths went down 3-1 to Barford Tigers as Bianca Homer bagged a second half reply.

But Barford piled on the pressure to bag a decisive third goal.
