KIDDERMINSTER Carolians face another injury crisis for Saturday’s home clash against Wolverhampton.

The Marlpool Lane outfit are set to miss the crocked trio Matt Risby, Simon Clarke and Rhys Pritchard, while Alex Thompson is also unavailable.

But in a lift for KCs, captain Rob Delahay is set to return, although Mike Protheroe is a doubt with a swollen foot after he stepped on a nail.

Kidderminster have won the last two games, but face a tough test against Wolverhampton, who are fourth in the league.

Director of rugby Phil Knowles said: “We are missing quite a few players this week, so we’ll be calling up a few of the youngsters.

“Wolverhampton will be tough, they usually put out very big teams and a flyer on the wing as well.”

KCs came through a tough game against Worcestershire rivals Droitwich in the North Midlands Plate on Saturday, edging their old foes 18-17 in a changeable match.

Kidderminster had edged into an 8-0 lead before going 17-8 down.

Droitwich’s Bobby Scott-Walker was in good form with his kicking game as Nick Godfrey and Steve Poke touched down.

It took a Chris Pinner penalty and a late Chris Baldwin try, converted by Pinner, to seal a home semi-final against Moseley Oak on February 14.

Knowles commented: “It was a funny game. Early on I felt we were going to win by a big score, but Droitwich came back into the game well “We gave away too many penalties, but Droitwich have a very good place kicker who made us pay.

“Then we got back into the game and managed to win it, which was really pleasing.

“If we play like we did in parts then we will do well against Wolverhampton.”

Meanwhile, the club will be holding their masquerade ball on Saturday, March 7 at Stourport Manor Hotel (7.30pm for 8pm sit down). Tickets are £25 per person for tables of 10.
