STOURPORT Ladies suffered mixed results in their bid to ease their relegation worries in the Conference West League.

They drew 2-2 with Oxford Hawks on Saturday and stood up to leaders Slough on Sunday before losing 2-0.

But it was enough to lift them to third from bottom and out of the relegation zone.

Against Oxford, Stourport had been trailing 2-0 at half time after Hawks had scored from open play and a short corner.

But the second period was a total contrast to the first with the visitors in the ascendency for the majority the time and, after several short corners, Sarah Cavendish slotted home to bring Stourport back into the match.

Nicola Moss then combined with Georgina Bathurst to set up Hannah Goss for the equaliser.

Stourport were creating more and more chances to win the match, however, Oxford still threatened by forcing Sophie Wood into a good save at the death leaving both sides with a share of the points.

A day later, goals in each half shot down the Wyre Forest side as unbeaten Slough won 2-0.

Stourport weren’t overawed by the occasion and could have taken the lead in the first minute when Lora Symonds burst through the opposition defence only for her shot to go agonisingly wide.

But Slough bagged their second in the 54th minute.

The Thirds got the better of Redditch 3-1 in Worcestershire Division One, with Dina Koerzdoerfer bagging a brace and Hannah Johnson also on target.

In Division Two, the Fourths secured a 4-3 victory against Bromsgrove Thirds, thanks to a hat-trick from Bianca Homer and one from Karen McIntyre.

The Fifths edged out Kidderminster 3-2 in Division Three as Rosie Connollym, Esme Gibbons and Hannah Yates hit the back of the net to seal a thrilling encounter.
