STOURPORT Ladies secured another season in the Investec National League Conference West after ending the season with a 4-4 draw at home to Trojans.

The Wyre Forest outfit made sure of escaping relegation after a strong second half to the season.

Stourport started the season with an eight-game winless run but rallied impressively with just two defeats in nine to secure seventh place. They sealed the campaign with a stirring draw against Trojans in a game where Stourport kept pegging back the visitors.

Claire Pearson bagged a brace and Hannah Goss also scored as the sides were locked at 3-3 by the break.

Sarah Cavendish fired Stourport ahead but the Southampton-based side made sure it was honours even.

In the Worcestershire Division One the thirds beat their hosts Barford Tigers, last weekend, 3-0.

In a goalless first half, the visitors were under-performing against an understrength home side, but they came up against an outstanding keeper, who won their player of the match. But Stourport picked up the pace after the break and were able to capitalise on their chances that they created.

Stourport opened the scoring following a goalmouth scramble which Kerry Walker put away.

If the first goal was a scramble then the second was an outstanding one; an awesome strike from Fran Moss, across the goal from the circle, close to the base line at an extremely tight angle.

The third came from Stacey Jones knocked in the ball on the far post from an excellent cross. Stourport’s player of the match was Hattie Cook.

In Division Two, Stourport fourths went down 6-0 at the hands of leaders Bromsgrove seconds.

The fifths got the better of Worcester thirds in Division Two, as Georgi Warrilow and Alice Caldwell bagged a goal in each half.

Stourport sixths beat Droitwich seconds 5-0 at home, as Julie Yapp bagged four goals and Teri Baron the other.
