HARRIERS' are set for more work in the summer to repair their problematic playing surface is set for more repair work ahead of for the 2015-16 season.

The Aggborough playing surface has been criticised for the way it has cut up badly since December.

But the club plan to complete the rest of the drainage work started began last summer.

“The pitch was assessed by an FA agronomist, last season. We received a quote for £160,000,” said chairman Ken Rae at the fans' forum.

“We went for the cheaper option, for obvious reasons, which was £50,000.

“It Which included, replacing the external pitch sprinkler system and installing sprinklers into pitch.

“They put drainage in across the pitch we could afford.

“This summer the work to fix the drainage will be from North to South stands, with gravel and sand banking.

“That was the work we couldn’t afford last summer, but it will mean we avoid the problems of this season.”

Director John Davies also defended defender Worcester City’s ground sharing at Aggborough.

He said: “People are blaming Worcester City but in reality we need their money because what we are bringing in won’t pay for our players.”

Rae also apologised for the club shop running out of kit club over the course of the season, blaming their financial problems for the wait.

The kits are provided MG Sportswear, who are owned by Harriers director Gino Ruffinato.
