BEWDLEY Town will be looking to build on an encouraging 5-2 win over Cradley Town when they tackle relegation-battling Shifnal this weekend.

A brace for Chris Seekings and strikes by Luke Morris, James Smith and Jason Wellings secured a comfortable victory. Now Town, who were set to play Bromyard in the Worcester Infirmary Cup semi-finals on Wednesday night, tackle struggling Shifnal at home (3pm ko).

The Shropshire side are second from bottom in the West Midlands Premier but can still escape the drop zone.

Town manager Phil Mullen said: “We’re not worried about whom we play, our main concern is getting the players out and if we can do that then we’ll win the game.

“We were missing a few for the Cradley game but we still played well and scored some good goals.”

Town are 15th in the league and pushing to secure a mid-table finish under the direction of Mullen, who took over as manager last summer. Next Tuesday, Bewdley tackle Willenhall at home (7.45pm ko).
