KIDDERMINSTER Victoria put under strength Barnt Green to the sword to record an emphatic ten wicket victory and maintain their momentum in the Birmingham Premier.

The Chester Road outfit recorded a fourth straight win to maintain their 100 per cent record and keep them at the top of the table.

While Barnt Green were missing key men Andy Sutton, Josh Poysden and Matt Lamb, this win over one of their closest rivals in Worcestershire sent out a message to the rest of the league.

A well-crafted century (102) by Andy Kimberlin, well supported by skipper Matt Pardoe’s (36) saw KVCC retain their unbeaten league record, sharing top spot with Walmley.

KVCC won the toss and decided to field and made a rip-roaring start as Green were reduced to 33-3.

Sam Cheshire was bowled by Gareth Williams for 12, Will Baker (10) was caught by Nathan Round bowled Connor Smith, and Callum Scott was out LBW for a duck, giving Smith a second wicket.

It soon became 39-4 when Tom Brown was bowled by Williams, having scored five.

Luke Radford was scoring runs, but having struck three fours, he was caught by keeper Tom Kimberlin off the bowling of Williams for 15.

Barnt Green made a slight recovery, raising their score to 94. Olly Butts and Rod Wigley batted quite well until Butts (32) fell to a catch by Craig Wood off Michael Hill’s bowling.

KVCC switched from seam to spin and it soon brought results. Wigley had scored 22 when Tom Kimberlin stumped him off Pardoe's bowling.

Kimberlin had a second stumping with Jonathan Wright accounting for Aadil Rashid who had scored five runs.

Alex Woods (20) and Will Neale (17) added 38 runs before W right struck twice as Hill and Andy Siwicki took catches as Green were dismissed for 154.

Good bowling backed up by good fielding left Barnt Green struggling. Wright took 3-18, Williams 3-22, Smith 2-34, with Pardoe and Hill both taking a wicket.

KVCC's opening batsmen then ensured victory.

By the 10th over KVCC had 70 runs in the book. Pardoe and Andy Kimberlin soon struck form with Wigley conceding 43 in his five overs.

Rashid, Scott, Brown nor Dunn could stem the runs coming from the opening batsmen.

Pardoe played a captain’s innings in support of Kimberlin whose confidence grew with each over, as he reached his century by the 14th over and the tempo was maintained.

The game was all over by the 20th over with Kimberlin not out on 102, which was his best innings ever in the top division.

He faced 75 balls, hitting twenty fours, with Pardoe scored 36 with three fours and two sixes.

Next Saturday KVCC are at home to Knowle & Dorridge with a 12 noon start.

The seconds also got the better of Barnt Green to seal a fine weekend.
