THE fine weather over the last week resulted in several personal best and season’s best performances for Wyre Forest CRC riders.

Jon Howard was the best placed rider for the club finishing second in his best time for the distance of 20 minutes and 52 seconds at the Ludlow CC promoted 10 miles TT on the popular R10/6B A49-Brimfield Bypass course.

Paul Gibson also recorded his best time for the distance with 23.41 for 25th place while another good ride from David Prior gave him 39th place in a time of 25.10.

Race winner in 20.15 was Matthew Davies of Paramount CRT.

Near perfect conditions for the latest race in the Midweek TT championship on the Ryelands Lane course produced more season’s and personal best times with sponsored rider Richard Bussell setting the first sub 20-minutes time.

Steve Vanes continues to climb up the rankings with another win.

Several junior riders were in action at the Redditch Road and Path CC promoted Youths series circuit races at Tudor Grange in Solihull.

Aimee Lane was again victorious in the U12s girls race with Ben Lawrence eighth in the boys race and Charlie Boddice finished mid-pack.

Jamie Crump and Sam Cooper got into a leading break in the U14s boys race, but were overwhelmed by a large group of Lichfield riders at the finish and had to settle for 8th and 11th place respectively. In her first regional race Erin Boddice finished a creditable third in the girls race.

WFCRC will be promoting the final race in this series at Stourport Sports Club on Saturday, July11.
