KIDDERMINSTER Victoria U11s continued their winning ways as they maintained top spot in both Worcester West 11-a-side and pairs leagues.

The team beat Droitwich by eight runs, scoring 117-3, highlights being Dylan Griffiths, retired on 30, Jack Meese and Tom Powell both on 24.

They then beat Old Elizabethan’s by 20 runs. After scoring 144-4, Sammy Wright retired on 33, but he was backed up by Sam Shaverin (21), Jack Meese (16) and Josh Whittall (13).

Shaverin starred in the bowling with 3-7 off 2 overs.

Alveley were restricted by the U11s to 98-5, who then chased down the total with three overs to spare.

The U11s pairs team overcame Bewdley by 15 runs despite Oliver Tucker top scoring for Bewdley with 25.

KVCC U15s visited Bromsgrove and posted a big total of 148-3. Ryan Wheldon opened the batting and retired with 50, Harry Carter backed him up with 39, Sam Beadsworth knocked a quick 20 and Liam Platt finished it off with 16 not out.

Bromsgrove lost their opener to a duck by Wheldon but recovered well only to fall short by four runs.

A very similar team played Stourport U16s two days later posting another big total – 143-2 – despite a slow start, with Carter scoring 65 not out and George Hatfield bowled for 51.

In reply, Stourport struggled with two early wickets for Wheldon, one for Josh Tidmarsh and three decisive wickets for Kieran Lillis to lose by 34 runs.
