CYCLING: Jon Howard did not let the sweltering conditions effect him in the latest round of the Wyre Forest CRC Midweek Time Trial Championship, as he finished well clear of his rivals.

There was another good ride from Paul Darby in the latest round of circuit races at Stourport Sports Club.

Leading a select group of riders going into the final circuit he was beaten back to third place on the line by some very fast sprinters.

Justin and Lucy Walters rode the www.realteam.co.uk midweek 10 miles TT on the R10/17 course with Justin finishing third in 21 minutes and 15 seconds and Lucy 37th overa;l and second lady.

In the Lichfield Youth races Jamie Crump secured fifth place from a leading group of 14 riders.
