KIDDERMINSTER Victoria’s U12s secured a nail-biting victory against Droitwich with a catch by Ryan Clifford off the last ball of the game.

In a low scoring match in which KVCC were bowled out in 14 overs for 87 runs, the team held the opposition back with some good bowling and fielding to clinch the win by 7 runs.

Highlights included Dylan Griffiths retiring on 30 and new player Luke Darby on 14.

Cameron Billings displayed some tight bowling, conceding just five runs off the last two overs, with figures of 11-1 off four overs.

The U10s pairs team – with some very new players – missed out on a win against Barnards Green in the last over, finishing eight runs behind, with a score of 75 for 3.

Daniel Newton top scored on 17 and took a catch off Jacob Townes’ bowling, while Jack Meese and Alexander Brown took a wicket each, both caught and bowled.

The team was also beaten by a more experienced Ombersley side by 61 runs, scoring 53-5, with Newton again top scoring with 12.
