STOURPORT firsts kept the pressure on the top two teams in Worcestershire Division Two as they thrashed Worcester Dominies and Guild by 142 runs.

With just six points seperating the top three teams and Stourport still having to play the top two it is gearing up to an exciting climax to the season.

Batting first the leagues leading run scorer Kevin Renecke hit a brilliant 116 and 63 not out from Chris Parry saw Stourport post 286 for 4 from their 50 overs.

In reply, Gavin Bryan (3-31) and Lee Waldron (2-25) took early wickets before Michael Pratt wrapped up the tail with 3-10 bowling out Dominies for 144 in the 33rd over.

This Saturday Stourport entertain Evesham (1pm start).

Stourport seconds' lead at the top of the table was dramatically cut as they were outplayed by local rivals Bewdley.

Bewdley posted 297-8, before a superb spell from Bewdley skipper Sam Beasley with 4-25 saw Stourport bowled out for 224.

Stourport thirds lost their lead at the top of Division Five as they were beaten by new leaders Astwood Bank in a bizarre match.

Batting, first Stourport were bowled out for just 47. Astwood Bank then lost eight wickets in their reply. Alex Cook (4-30) and Mark Gleeson (4-17) almost pulling off a remarkable victory.
