BEWDLEY Town breezed to their third success of the season with a 1-0 win over Dudley Town last Saturday but then came unstuck on Tuesday night when crashing 4-1 at Cradley.
Despite the defeat, manager Phil Mullen remained very upbeat and claimed: “Cradley are decent outfit, but we acquitted ourselves quite well and actually took the lead.
“I’m not too despondent, because we played some nice football and scored a nice footballing goal. We just struggled a bit with the physical side, but that will come.
“We just came up a bit short on the night. We’re a young side and learnt a lesson at Cradley, it was a bit of an eye opener. But I’ve been really pleased by the youngsters we’ve brought in. They’ve not let us down and there has been improvement all round.
“I’ve still got some experienced players to come back in who haven’t featured at all yet this season such as Richard Costello, Rob Orme, Ed Flory and Alex Lavery, so the prospects are looking good.”
Bewdley travel to Shrewsbury side Haughmond on Saturday (3pm ko) and then entertain Gornal Athletic on Tuesday night who are one of the favourites to lift this season’s title.
