GARY Whild is hoping to bolster his Kidderminster Harriers’ squad ahead of Saturday’s vital Vanarama National League clash against Lincoln City.

Harriers’ squad are short of numbers before the all-important meeting at Aggborough (3pm ko).

With Adam Dawson joining Vanarama National League Tranmere Rovers until December due to personal reasons and Andrew Fox returning to parent club Peterborough United, a youthful group of players is close to breaking point.

However, defender Jordan Tunnicliffe is expected to have shaken off an injury for the visit of the Imps.

While the Aggborough outfit’s budget restrictions mean money is tight, Whild has vowed to keep searching diligently for new recruits. He said: “We are looking to do a few things and bring a few bodies in because at the moment we are down to the bare bones.”

The head of football operations revealed Harriers had forged strong links with West Brom and Aston Villa.

He has been talking to both about the prospect of bringing players in ahead of Saturday’s game.

Whild also confirmed a proposal to recruit former Coventry City boss Steve Pressley in an advisory capacity had now been shelved.

Harriers remain bottom of the table, without a win in their opening ten league games.

Flowers will focus on training and he and Whild, who also has a wider overseeing role, will work together on a matchday.

Whild said: “As far as Tim and myself are concerned we’re working as hard as we can to try and get some results for the club, which is in a very difficult position right now.

“What’s important is that the players understand and that goes for the fans and everybody.

We’re all desperate to get that monkey off our back.”
