THE fate of Harriers may well rest on the shoulders of defender Kelvin Langmead.

The Ebbsfleet loanee returned from seven games out with a heel injury and put in a towering display at the back.

Gurjit Singh, so often one of the few causes for cheer during a tough campaign, ghosted into the box to meet Reece Styche’s right-wing cross and headed home his fourth goal of the season.

Kidderminster paid the price for not scoring more on top as Halifax roared back into the game when substitutes Josh MacDonald and Jake Hibbs were introduced as half-time substitutes.

Harriers survived several scares, including a blatant push on MacDonald in the box by Calvin Dinsley, making his first ever league start, before CJ Hamilton slotted home the equaliser from 14 yards out in the 67th minute.

Both teams pushed for the win, with Hamilton firing over and Jordan Burrows steering a good effort wide of the far post.

But Harriers could have won it in the fourth minute of stoppage time but leftback Andrew Fox fired wide.

A winner would have lifted the club after a week where Gary Whild was removed from the manager’s post and named head of football operations, with Tim Flowers as new head coach and Mark Creighton departing.

“I thought Kelvin was absolutely outstanding and was everything we’ve missed, as we’ve talked about on many occasions,” said Whild.
