WYRE Forest Under-14s girls edged out St John’s 3-2 in the Mercian Fortis League.

After a bright start, Chloe Reading scored the opening goal, delightfully slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.

Forest continued to control the game and the second goal arrived after another exquisite strike courtesy of Izzy Smith.

St John’s pulled a goal back on the stroke of half time.

After an unfortunate injury to Zoe Willets, St John’s were increasing the pressure and bagged a second goal.

Reading fired in another Forest goal with a fine half volley to earn the player of the match award.

Wyre Forest Under-15s girls welcomed Walsall Phoenix for their third game of the season and ran out 4-3 winners.

It took just seven minutes for Ellie Jones to fire home a rebound to put the Wyre Forest ahead.

Despite being in control they just couldn’t finish and it was disappointing when after 23 minutes Walsall managed to break through and score two goals to take a 2-1 lead.

In the second half, Fleur Connolly bagged a leveller but Walsall took the lead again.

Connolly scored from a free-kick to bag her second goal.

Walsall were looking on the back foot when a great pass through to Sydney Harris allowed her to beat the defence and plant the ball in the back of the net to take the lead and seal victory.
