STOURPORT Ladies maintained their unbeaten start to the Investec National League Conference West with a 3-0 win at Olton on Saturday.

The Wyre Forest side are third after two wins and a draw.

They took the lead early on when full back Katie Miller exploited a penalty corner, with a prolific strike from the top of the circle. Stourport went into the break with a 1-0 lead but extended their advantage when Hannah Corcoran finished well from a penalty corner.

The atmosphere of the match began to decline as tempers began to get frayed, a technical red card being shown to an Olton forward, leaving the Birmingham side with only ten players.

Stourport finally took advantage of this as forward Claire Pearson slid one more ball past the keeper, after a sublime pass, for the visitors' third goal.

The shine of Stourport's victory was taken off somewhat, when newcomer to this season's National League side, Irene Johnson, was confined to the sin-bin after knocking the ball away, after a particularly bad foul.

Stourport seconds earned a point against Worcester in Midlands Division Two with a 1-1 draw, with Liz Warne on target.

In Worcestershire Division One the ladies thirds began their league campaign with a 6-0 victory over their hosts Harborne fourths.

The visitors were 2-0 ahead at half-time through strikes from Fran Moss and Kerry Walker.

Then goals from Alice Bunting, a second from Moss, Sofia Cupper, and Stacey Jones sealed the points for Stourport whose player of the match was Hannah Atkinson.

The fourths got the better of their fifths side with goals for Ashleigh Godfrey (2), Louise Marshall (2), Alice Caldwell, Georgia Lees and Teresa Moss scoring.
