IMPRESSIVE Kiddermin - ster booked their place in the semi-final of the North Mid - lands Shield with this com - fortable nine-try demolition of Shrewsbury.

KCs got their scoring spree rolling when Mike Protheroe was driven over with only two minutes on the clock.

Jack Holloway replied for the away side with a long range penalty.

But Carolians responded well and after good work by Alex Baldwin, Alex Thomp - son touched down as the hosts took a 10-3 lead.

Shrewsbury had a brief spell of pressure but lacked Kidderminster’s cutting edge.

In contrast, George Mor - gan and Jack Tunstall had Shrewsbury’s alarm bells ringing.

Good play by Rhys Pritchard allowed George Morgan to score another try, before Thompson touched down just before half-time to secure a 34-3 half-time lead for KCs.

Shrewsbury responded and replacement Ben Wintle eventually bulldozed over for a try, which was also con - verted.

Once again the home side responded impressively and Taylor raced the length of the field to complete his hat- trick.

The winger converted his own try and, with Shrews - bury reeling, George Morgan broke from his 22 and raced down left field before putting in a deft grubber kick for replacement Josh Woulfe to gather and score, with Taylor again converting to extend the advantage to 48-10.

The visitors pulled a con - verted score back but Taylor bagged his fourth try, which he improved with another conversion.
