POCKETS A got off to a flyer in the Kidderminster Monday Snooker League when they beat Workmans A 5-0 away from home.
Debutant Anthony Sharpe led the way with a 25 break.
Pockets B also had a good win over last year’s champi - ons Pockets F by 4-1, with both Tom Pepperrall and Gareth Ward collecting two points apiece, despite a break of 30 from Paul Crisp.
St Johns D had a good return to the premiership with a 4-1 win over fellow promoted side Cookley A.
There was also a win for Pockets S by 3-2 against Franche, with Charles Newey collecting two points, but it did take a last frame doubles match to decide the result.
In Division One, Chester Road started the season with a bang despite having three reserves in as they beat St Georges 4-1, with Glyn Rees collecting two wins.
Dave Forth was the star of the match, getting out of his sick bed to rifle home a long black to decide the doubles.
Meanwhile, St Johns equalled that result against Wribbenhall with both James Allington and Martin Lippitt having two wins apiece.
Pockets C got the better of Legion 3-2 but had a walk- over in the deciding frame.
Pockets D beat Workmans B 3-2 with P Carter having two wins on debut.
