SEVERAL Kidderminster and Stourport AC (KSAC) athletes attended end-of- season track and field open meets over the last few week - ends with a deal of success.

First of these was the Tel - ford Games, where KSAC had six athletes competing.

James Milburn, 15, competing in three events won the U- 17s’ triple jump with 12.42m, second in the 100m hurdles and third in the discus.

In the U-15s, Georgie Knott took gold in the shot put with 9.34m and gained a personal best (29.14m) on her way to second in the javelin.

Alex Allen was third in the U-17s’ 100m (11.36s) and he ran the 200m in 23.6s.

Adrian James, competing in the veterans over-35s catego - ry, won both the 200m in 25.6s and the 400m in 58.1s.

Chris Lane achieved a personal best in the U-17s’ javelin with a throw of 27.5m and Yasmin Berrow ran 14.2s in the U-15 girls’ 100m.

Next open was the Final Fling in Wrexham, which is the last traditional throwing event of the year.

As well as individual competitions for shot put, discus, hammer and javelin there are combined totals, called Throwathon, for athletes who do all four disciplines.

Katie Lambert continued her late season purple patch to win both the U-17s girls’ hammer, with yet another throw over 60m, before winning the Throwathon with a new championship record .

Jack Lambert, 14, emulated his older sister by winning the boys’ U-15 hammer and took bronze in the Throwa - thon, gaining personal bests in both the shot and javelin.

It was also a great weekend for Jess Surridge, who gained new personal bests in the U-15 girls’ hammer and javelin.

The final track and field open of the year at Dudley saw veteran Adrian James winning both the 200m (25.6s) and the 400m (58.4s). Alex Allen also had two excellent runs in the 100m (11.46s) and the 200m (23.36s).

The club are now looking forward to the winter cross- country season and hosting the 2016 Sport Relief one, three and six miles on Sun - day, March 20, next year.

The club meets at Stourport Sports Club on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6pm until 7.30pm.
