CYCLING: Only one mem ber of Wyre Forest CRC made it to the Welland Valley CC-promoted West Midland Cyclo-Cross League event held near Lutterworth.
Harrison Bryan consolidated his position in the youths category with 15th place.
Steve Vanes contested Dirtrun’s Rough’n’Smooth duathlon run over varying terrain at the Top Barn Activity Centre near Holt.
After finishing seventh in the first run of 5kms, he moved into the lead on the 28km bike ride with a time almost three minutes better than any of his rivals.
He conceded victory to Paul Rogers, of Black Country Triathletes, on the 3km run.
Steve Vanes was Wyre Forest’s top time trial rider with a total of 961 points.
Justin Walters and Jon Howard finished as first cat - egory riders with Howard topping the 45-49 age group.
Stuart Walker was rider of the month with 45 points.
