SNOOKER: Pockets F progressed into the next round of the Championship Cup in the Kidderminster and District League by beating St John’s D.

Pockets got off to a super start with both Richard Costello and Macauley Gunn scoring over 70 points, which put them into a 94-point lead going into the third frame.

John Costello clinched the next frame and the final singles stage was again a Pockets win for Paul Crisp.

In the doubles, St Johns were 136 behind, and with Pockets taking this frame as well, they won and go through to the next round.

First Division Pockets D saw off Premier side Cookley.

The two teams each won a frame but Cookley edged ahead in the third.

Cookley went into the doubles frame with a slender one- point lead but they lost the doubles by two points and left the match in the balance.

Cookley were unable to field a fourth singles player and so, according to the competition rules, had to forfeit the match.

Pockets D go through to round one, which will take place on Monday, November 16.
