STOURPORT Ladies moved up to third in the Investec Western Women National League after a 2-0 win over Bristol University.

After a goalless and even first half, Stourport came out and dominated the second.

They didn’t score the second until the final ten minutes when a high press led by Rene Johnson, caused a breakdown in the Bristol defence.

This allowed Claire Pearson the opportunity to slot the ball past the Bristol goalkeeper's pads to make it 1-0.

Stourport, had to wait until a last-minute penalty corner, allowed Johnson bag a second goal.

On Sunday, they were edged out 1-0 at Brooklands Poyntons in the National Cup.

In the Midland Second Division, Stourport continued their winning streak with a 2-0 victory against their hosts Kettering.

The visitors took the lead in the first half through an Emma Pollock goal.

Then in the second half Stourport continued to work hard and an excellent passing play resulted in Fran Moss scoring their second goal.

The Thirds put in a good effort in their Worcestershire Division One against Bournville last weekend, and were unfortunate to lose 3-1.

They took the lead through Kerry Walker, but Bournville were a tough opposition and came back into the match. Lucy Tolloday in the Stourport goal pulled off some good saves to her earn herself player of the match, but still the visitors managed to score three goals before the final whistle.

Stourport Ladies' Fourths recorded a solid 7-1 victory over their hosts Worcester in Division Two.

Goals from Charlotte Lickman, Kate Bailey, Lou Marshall, and braces from Alice Caldwell and Lucy Hawkes completed the scoring.

The Fifths lost 3-0 to Kings Heath, while the Sixths lost 2-1 to Droitwich.

l The Men’s Seconds team were edged out 1-0 by Worcester.

The Sixths smashed six goals past Belper without reply bagged six goals in Midlands Division One to defeat Belper 6-0.

Lee Slip scored a hat-trick, with the other goals scored by Ben Harris, Jon Yates, and Dave Shepherd.

The Men’s Fifths' unbeaten start to the season came to an end when they lost to fellow table-toppers Harborne 3-2.
