WYRE Forest Paralympic heroine Claire Cashmore has been selected for British Para-swimming squad which will compete at the IPC Swimming European Open Championships in Spain.
Cashmore, 27, has an excellent pedigree at the tournament, having won ten medals.
In 2014, the Wyre Forest Swimming Club member clinched her first ever individual gold at a major tournament in the 100 metre SB8 breaststroke.
She is joined by Lewis White, Ellie Robinson, Michael Jones, Rebecca Redfern and Zara Mullooly, who will be making their international debuts.
The 25-strong squad will take on some of the world’s greatest Para-swimmers, just four months before the Paralympic Games in Rio.
National Performance Director, Chris Furber, said “This is an exciting team of youth and experience.
“More opportunities to race against international competitors are important as we move closer to the Paralympic Games.
“Having five athletes making their senior international debut is great.”
