BEWDLEY Town saw their five-game unbeaten run in the West Midlands Premier ended on Tuesday night when they lost 3-0 at Wolverhampton Sporting Community.

The Ribbesford Meadow outfit succumbed to three headed goals from set pieces.

But manager Phil Mullen was upbeat by his side’s display if not the end result.

He said: “We got caught out at set pieces, but I actually thought we played well.

“We created a number ofchances we didn’t take.

“The game never petered out, we played until the end.”

Bewdley have 10 games of the season left after the middle of the season was decimated by the ongoing wet weather.

After Saturday’s clash at Bilston Town Community, Town have seven games in a row at home and they will be hoping April showers do not force any matches to be rescheduled.

Next Tuesday, Bewdley entertain Haughmond and on Saturday, April 16, they take on Black Country Rangers.

They have injury worries in defence, with Aaron Stubbins (knee), Will Ward (knee) and Sam Parmenter not available.

Mullen added: “Hopefully we won’t have any rain affect the games we have left.”
