Kidderminster Carolians suffered their worst defeat of the season in the Midlands Division Two West (South) as they suffered an 19-8 home loss to Shrewsbury.

A shocking, listless and demotivated display by KCs ended in abject disappointment for their supporters and nothing less than embarrassment for the players as they stuttered to defeat in their last home match of 2015-16.

The visitors took the lead when their forwards drove over from a lineout in the 22 and second row Luke Mill touched down. Carolians had to weather a sustained spell of pressure from the away side.

Early in the second half, Chris Pinner slotted over a penalty from 15 metres to get on the board.

But Shrewsbury hooker Lewis Jenkins was on hand to score the try which Owen Morris improved to stretch the lead to 12-3.

The visitors continued to show the greater desire while lacklustre KCs were getting nowhere fast and it was no great surprise when Shrews went further ahead following a neat exchange of passes down the right which sent Alan Jebb over for a lovely try, converted by Morris.

Kidderminster pulled a try back when Freddie Morgan combined well with Pinner to put replacement wing James Whitehouse in at the corner and reduce the arrears 19-8.

KCs, who have now won only three of their 10 league matches since Christmas, will be looking to end on a high note when they travel to improved Stafford on Saturday for their last fixture (3pm ko).
