TEAMS from the Kidder-minster Monday Snooker League battled it out for the Valentine Cup.

In the first match Premier League side St Johns D took on Workmans B of the First Division.

St Johns got off to a superb start with Josh Summers scoring 92 and not only pulling back the start but also giving them a lead of 27.

Ash Ward won the next frame for St Johns scoring 78 and they continued in this vein with Roger Parkes scoring 62 and Pete Smith 66.

Winning the doubles frame confirmed a big win for St Johns by 127 points.

In the second game, Chester Road saw off Premier Division side Pockets F with a win for Ray Pugh.

Pockets B won by over 200 points when they took on St George’s from Division One.

The first frame was a close call with Rich Pepperall winning 73-61 against Matt Addleton before Dave Timmington scored 79 to nudge Pockets into a slight lead.

Pockets extended their lead to 101 after a success for Tom Pepperall.

Tony Kidd sealed another win and then teamed up with Pepperall to seal the doubles.

In an all Pockets affair, the A team edge out the C side by 18 points.

Cookley lost out by 91 points to British Legion.

Cookley got off to the best start in this see-saw match by taking the first frame but Legion levelled through Roger Harrison.

The third frame was won by Cookley, but the fourth frame proved vital with Nathan Cutter of the Legion scoring 74 and putting them into an almost unassailable lead.

Despite Cookley taking the final frame, they lost by 91 points.

Pockets E saw off their clubmates from the S team thanks to wins for John Betton and Taylor Fish.

Workmans A got the better of St John’s C.

In the final match, St John’s C saw off Pockets D in a Division One clash.
