KIDDERMINSTER Under-9s won all three matches at their first softball festival of the season at Ombersley on Sunday.

The youngsters beat Cookley by 36 runs, Old Elizabethan’s U10 girls by 28 runs and Ombersley B by nine runs, with Jack Link shining with bat and ball.

The U12s enjoyed a nail-biting victory by just six runs against Bromsgrove on Monday, with U11 player Sam Wright stepping up to be star of the show scoring 15 runs and taking four wickets.

The U15s claimed a win against Romsley and Hunnington, scoring 115 in 14.3 overs. Joe Miszkowski retired on 51 and Oli Davenport scored 33.

Sunday’s Premier game for the U13s against Stourbridge ended in defeat as they failed to chase down the opposition’s total and lost by 10 runs.

It was a better result in the U13 pairs against Worcester, which ended in a 48-run win.

The U-11s suffered defeats against Astwood Bank and Droitwich, while the U13s home game against Alvechurch was rained off.
