Vanes in fine form at Wyre Forest time trial championships
CYCLING: Steve Vanes comfortably won the latest round of the Wyre Forest CRC time trial championships in 28 minutes and 10 seconds.
Andy Convery had a tough race while competing in the Coventry CC promoted 10 miles time trial on the K41/10 course, finishing in a 23-14.
There was success for the club’s junior in the Mid Shropshire Wheelers evening series of circuit races with victories for Aimee Lane and Sam Cooper.
There was another victory for Lane in last weekend’s Curborough youths races at Lichfield where her increase in pace over the last few laps gave her a comfortable win.
