SNOOKER: Teenager Taylor Fish, from Pockets in Kidderminster, fought his way through from the last 16 qualifiers in Leeds to reach the UK under-16s final.

The 15-year-old began by beating Reggie Edwards 4-2, making two of the top three breaks on the day, a 73 and 81, just missing the last red on both occasions when trying to clear with a century.

He then played Harry Peart, establishing a 3-0 lead, and responded well after losing a tight fourth frame to register the highest break of the day, a 107, which was Taylor’s first century in competitive play.

In the semi-final his opponent, Kayden Brierley, began well to lead 3-0 but Taylor took fourth frame with a 44 break and then won four frames in a row to win 5-3.

He will play Jack Harris of Landywood Snooker Club, Great Wyrley, in the final to be held at the Cueball Snooker Club, Derby on June 18.
