STOURPORT snapped up an excellent local derby success against Bewdley in Worcester County League Division One.

Kevin Renecke cracked 74 after Stourport were inserted to bat first and posted a total of 219 all out.

Renecke found support from Mike Pratt who made 39, the pair putting on 80, while Ryan Derrick supplied a further 26.

Jack Mills proved the pick of Bewdley's bowling by taking three for 53 while there were two wickets apiece for Martyn Carr, Luke Groves and Simon Mauger.

Bewdley set off chasing what seemed an under par total but lost wickets at a steady rate.

Charlie Eastoe with 38 was the stand out batsman for Bewdley while Robert Crane was fluent with 20 but his side proved unable to put together any significant partnerships.

Ryan Derrick ripped out three wickets for Stourport with Matt Delo taking two more as Stourport proved impressive 71 run winners.

The Second XI contest proved a much closer affair but Stourport again came out on top after squeezing home with three balls to spare.

Bewdley batted first and reached 262, Garth Lewis scoring 62 while Matt Cowdery added 43.

Stourport took up the chase and made it home thanks to runs from Chris Parry, Sam Hayes, Neil Bailey and Gavin Bryan.
