THERE were a host of personal bests in the latest round of the Wyre Forest CRC Time Trial Championship on the Rylands Lane course.

Fastest by a few seconds was Steve Vanes from Jon Howard, but both were well clear of the rest of the field.

Ken Bradbury continued his road racing season with a fine fifth-place finish in the F category at the Audnam road race in Cheshire which attracted the best veteran riders in the country.

Despite being in contention despite several breaks in the main bunch he was pipped to a rostrum finish in the final uphill sprint for the line. The club’s junior riders enjoyed success at the Solihull CC promoted Youth Circuit Races at Tudor Grange.

Sam Cooper continued to impress with a fine victory in the under-14 boys race, with Ben Lawrence finishing in 24th place.

Jason Crump battled to a 12th place finish in the under-16 boys category despite a heavy crash while Oliver Bill placed 22nd.

Louis Smith and Charlie Boddice finished in eighth and 18th places respectively in the under-12 boys race. In the girls’ races Aimee Lane was second and Kinga Ingram fourth in the under-14 race with Erin Boddice fourth in the under-16 race.

In the ladies fourth category of road and track Vicki Boddice is one of five riders to top the UK National rankings and is the top ranked rider in the West Midlands.
