KIDDERMINSTER CC Under-12s defeated Five Ways Edwardians in a tight match, with both teams short of players.

Five Ways finished on 91-6 with only nine players, two of whom retired on 25.

KCC reached 92-7 – only Tom Powell retiring on 25.

The U10s beat Stourbridge in a pairs match scoring 104-6 (274 net) against the opposition 89-8 (249 net). Liam Jones top-scored with 19 runs.

Jack Meese was best bowler taking a match-winning 3-8.

In Cookley’s rearranged U9s softball festival on Sunday, Kidderminster lost to the home side but beat Ombersley B to put them top of their group and earn a place in the finals.

They also won a friendly against Ombersley players in lieu of the game against OE girls U10s, who withdrew from the tournament.

Sam Austin totalled 3-2 off three overs, including two maidens from the three matches.

Overall from the season’s three festivals, Reuben Townes top-scored with 49 and no loss of wicket and Jo Harrison was best bowler, taking four wickets for 15 runs.

There was disappointment for the U13s who lost their cup final on Sunday against Barnards Green.

Despite Dylan Griffiths taking 4-11 and Matt Hatfield 3-20, KCC’s batting let them down, only Joe Miszkowski reaching double figures (22).

KCC’s U11s had a comprehensive win against Romsley – bowling them out for 29 in 11 overs, with Josh Whittall 3-2 off two overs and Sam Shaverin 3-4 off two.

Kidderminster made 31-1 in just six overs.
