WYRE Forest Cycle Racing Club will be holding centre stage later this month when they host the League of Veterans Racing Cyclists National Criterium Championships.

The event takes place at Stourport Sports Club's purpose built cycle track on Saturday, July 16.

Veterans cycling caters for riders aged 40 years and upwards with a total of seven age categories on offer at Stourport.

Racing starts at 9am for the older age groups, the event finishing with a race at 4pm for the younger 40 year old category.

The races are all of one hour plus five laps duration which makes for some fast and entertaining action as many of the 200 entrants taking part have been top amateur or professionals in their day.

Entrance to the event is absolutely free and all are welcome to spectate.
