STOURPORT closed in on the top of the Worcestershire County League Division One with a four-wicket win over second-placed Colwall.

The Wyre Forest side, who are third in the table, moved to within 13 points of second-placed Colwall with a fine win.

Bowling first, Stourport restricted Colwall to 209-8 from their 50 overs. Leg-spinner Matt Delo (4-42) was the pick of the bowlers having good support from Craig Siwicki (2-52).

In reply, Stourport reached the target in the penultimate over with thanks to Ethan Lockwood (67) and Andy Siwicki (41 not out).

They go to Worcester Nomads on Saturday (1pm start) aiming to maintain their good run of form.

The seconds enjoyed an 186-run success over Colwall in Division One 2nd XI.

Meanwhile, Chaddesley Corbett closed the gap on leaders Redditch in Division Two with a two-wicket win over Coombs Wood last Saturday.

With the leaders slipping up against Feckenham, Corbett cut their lead to just 14 points ahead of this weekend’s top-two clash at home.

Against Coombs Wood, Chris Mole took 5-32 Chaddesley dismissed their rivals for 203 in 48.3 overs.

Opener Ibrahim Jiva then hit 107 runs as Chaddesley made 204-8 in reply.
